Basic Green Acai Bowl
A great way to ensure you get your veggies and greens in for the day is to put them in your breakfast! Blended up into smoothies and acai bowls, greens like spinach and romaine lettuce are the easiest in terms of texture and no bitterness, while kale and rocket need more ingredients to overpower their stronger flavor. Experiment and see what you can tolerate!
- 1 frozen acai packet (I buy from Trader Joe's)
- 1 frozen banana
- 2 handfuls of spinach*
- 1 tsp of maca powder
- 1 tsp of spirulina (can find at Whole Foods or any health food store, or Amazon)
- 1/2 cup frozen mango
- 1 cup coconut water, water, or nut milk
- toppings: banana, fresh berries, granola or whole grain cereal, hemp seeds, chia seeds, chopped dates, nut butter
*tip: blend the greens with the liquid first to ensure they get blended as much as possible!
